Nimrod

Dramatized farce in verse
This show was at one time binge-ready, but now it's... not?

It may have switched to an "always on" status, or the creator may have stopped using Season Number and Episode Number values. Or they're inconsistent with their tagging, have removed episodes, or made other changes—intentional or not—leading to a less-than-perfect listener experience. And, if we're honest. It could be us. We might have listed the show too early, and episodes of the first season are still releasing.

Regardless, it's currently in a state that disqualifies it from being listed in our directory, as it's no longer binge-ready.

Show synopsis

This show uses machine-generated voices

NIMROD is a five-act brute-farce in verse! It’s a ridiculously chilling blend of Julius Caesar, Ubu Roi, and The Simpsons Movie that follows an imagined final year of a criminal businessman’s presidency (the Nimrod administration) through the eyes of Lani, its beleaguered Slovenian First Lady. Is it a ribald comedy? A brutal tragedy? Will language itself devolve into madness and lies? And what does a radioactive pig have to do with the fate of the free world? Listen for yourself and find out.

Nimrod was performed and recorded in front of a live audience on September 21, 2024 at The Broadwater in Hollywood. Each episode of the Nimrod Podcast includes one act of the performance followed by discussion and breakdown with Kirsten Vangsness and Phinneas Kiyomura.

Written by Phinneas Kiyomura, directed by Alina Phelan Ballou and starring Kirsten Vangsness.

Nimrod Cast: Julie Lanctot as our Narrator, Hiwa Chow Elms as Lani, Kirsten Vangsness as Nimrod, Edward Moravcsik as Carver, Joel Scher as Fairfellow, Janet Varney as Finger, Sierra Marcks as Ghouliardi, Jenny Soo as Dukie, Sarah Lilly as Blandon, Andrea Ruth as Goodfellow, interviewer, and Cushman, Alan Smyth as Smartfellow and Junior, Chloe Madriaga as Double Jr and Goon, Niall Sulcer as Princess and Goon 2, and Phinneas Kiyomura as Denis.
