Four adopted young adults flee their home during an invasion and are magically transported to a parallel world where they unknowingly disrupt a violent slave trade.

Aeden, the eldest, is a human haunted by a strange dream. He is determined to protect his siblings and new comrades with divine magic that many believe will bring a great evil.

Ruccharieu “Rook” is an elf obsessed with water, arcana, and gaining knowledge. He learns an otherworldly being has been occupying his body like a symbiote all along.

Niwa is a gnome who loves to share stories with the spirits of her deceased ancestors. As she gains self-confidence, she learns to summon new guides in this dangerous world.

Kliyd, the youngest, is a tikus (a rat person) who often has premonitions. Stealthy and athletic, she hides her emotions, but remains fiercely loyal to her family and other tikus.
